Dropped Charlie and Ben off at the CSA beach for tennis this morning. Everyone just leaves their beach chairs in this spot over night. Thought the color looked good for a Photoshop filter cutout.

Fourth of July Parade...

We are fortunate to have an awesome shady spot to watch the 4th of July Parade.  Standard favorites of mine were all there...fire trucks, marching bands, Willie Grimm, and, of course, The Shriner Motorcycle Team!  Eric was in charge of securing all candy thrown our way - we would trade him tootsie rolls for Barrett-friendly Dum-Dum suckers :-).

A Flower Circle July 4th

The flags were placed all over the North Encanto Neighborhood today. It looks nice. The temperatures have dropped and the monsoon has arrived. High of only 102 today!

Cannon Valley Fair

Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Cannon Valley Fair.  Rides, games, cotton candy, baby animals...the kids were in heaven!  Notice how Mom is the only one smiling - that was right before the hook... :-)  We met our cousins, the Pagels, there - had lunch together.  Later in the afternoon they came up to our house to cool off and refresh themselves on fruit/veggies and beer for the adults.  It was fun to be with the cousins!

 

Oh no...Rain!

Weather horn blew when we were on 15 and it poured. After a 1 hour delay we got to finish. Did not score well but Sedona was nice and cool!

Barrett's First Demolition Derby...

It is so unbelievably HUMID here in Minnesota!  You start sweating the minute you step outside.  Barrett was a little bewildered by the moisture coming down from his head..."Mom, why am I so wet?  Why is your face all wet?".  Grandpa, Uncle Dave, Aunt Karen, Mike, Barrett, and I headed down to the fairgrounds to see the demolition derby... here's a look:

Work Starts on Mom's SAAB

3 hours later and the blower motor is finally out. I'm grabbing the brushes I bought on the Internet and heading off to a local alternator repair shop. Wish me luck!

Minneapolis...then a Magic show back in Cannon Falls.

Yesterday, we woke up early and left the house at 8:45am...destination: Minneapolis.  We saw where Aunt Karen lives and played a little more with Jasmine and Marley.  Grandpa fixed Aunt Karen's leaky and clogged drain while the rest of us headed to Crafty Planet fabric and yarn shop.  It was a cute shop...research for a future endeavor?  We picked up sandwiches and headed back to Karen's - everyone ate well.  Once back in Cannon Falls, we headed to the library for a magic show.  We are having fun, but little do they know, the best part of our trip is yet to come...the excitement of the 4th of July weekend in Cannon Falls is building!
